One of my favorite songs, Heaven’s Point of View, sung by Priscilla McGruder, presents the idea there’s a different way of looking at things.
MY POINT OF VIEW
As I slog along the ups and downs and treacherous paths on my journey, I can get a false perspective. I can be thinking I’m failing in my calling. I’m thinking this is taking so long. After all, it’s been years since I started my journey. I should be much father along than I am. Why do I still have mess-ups? Am I ever going to get it right?
We all want to feel we are making a difference; but in the thick of things, it’s tough to judge.
GOD’S POINT OF VIEW
If we could see things the way God sees things, we might be surprised. The small things we do might have a big impact. We just can’t see it.
The journey that seems so long is very short from eternity’s view. The bible tells us our life is but a vapor – a puff of aerosol spray if you will, as compared to eternity.
What seems to last forever, actually won’t!
The mountains of trouble we may encounter are not nearly as huge as we might think. I love these lines in the song, Heaven’s Point of View:
But I′m living in the promise I'll never leave you I'll always see you through So what′s this mountain To an eagle flying high From heaven′s point of view
I want to fly high over the obstacles in my way; but even if my path requires tedious careful climbing, I know I’m not alone. My Traveling Companion is with me, with grace and mercy following behind.
