4 Rules for Rescue

4 Rules for Rescue

prov31grace

Why don’t you bring me the sacrifices I desire?
Bring me your true and sincere thanks,
and show your gratitude by keeping your promises to me,
    the Most High.
Honor me by trusting in me in your day of trouble.
Cry aloud to me, and I will be there to rescue you. Psalm 50:14-15 TPT

Thank Him

You’re in trouble; all you can think about is the mess you’re in. But first, step back and see the big picture. Things may look grim; but the child of God can always see how God has helped in the past. Now is the time to thank Him for His blessings, His provisions, His promises. I don’t say thank Him for the mess you are in; but I do say you can find something for which to be thankful.

Start there.

And in the midst of everything be always giving thanks, for this is God’s perfect plan for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 TPT

Keep Promises

Sometimes we rashly whisper promises. “God, if you just get me out of this, I promise I _______________.” (You fill in the blank.) And then He delivers, and we forget what we said. He doesn’t forget. If you’ve promised something and not followed through, now is the time to get back on track.

It is the Lord who directs your life,
for each step you take is ordained by God
to bring you closer to your destiny.
So much of your life, then, remains a mystery!
Be careful in making a rash promise before God,
or you may be trapped by your vow and live to regret it. Proverbs 20:24-25 TPT

Trust Him

I love this so much: ” Honor me by trusting in me in your day of trouble.” He feels HONORED when we place our trust in Him! How awesome is that? Instead of looking to friends, our bank accounts or our own strength, we go to HIM when trouble comes.

I love this because I used to think He might be thinking, “Oh, here’s Jerralea again crying to Me to make things better.” Now I see He doesn’t have that attitude at all!

Lord, how wonderful you are! You have stored up so many good things for us, like a treasure chest heaped up and spilling over with blessings— all for those who honor and worship you! Everybody knows what you can do for those who turn and hide themselves in you. Psalm 31:19 TPT

Cry Aloud

Let me be brief. Make some noise. Don’t try to be brave and silent. Let Him know that YOU know where to go for help!

Don’t you know that God, the true judge, will grant justice to all his chosen ones who cry out to him night and day? He will pour out his Spirit upon them. He will not delay to answer you and give you what you ask for. Luke 18:7 TPT

Today’s post was written in response to the prompt, “rescue,” found at the Five Minute Friday community of writers. In the interest of full disclosure, my post was written in five minutes; but the scriptures, headings and photos took longer!

I’m also sharing this post with the communities at Grace & Truth, Inspire Me Monday, Remember Me Monday, Tell His Story, InstaEncouragements Link-Up, Let’s Have Coffee, Tune In Thursday
