All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 2 Timothy 3:16 NLT
Show me Your ways, O Lord;
Teach me Your paths. Psalm 25:4
How good you are to me!
When people turn to you, Yahweh,
they discover how easy you are to please—so faithful and true!
Joyfully you teach them the proper path,
even when they go astray. Psalm 25:8 TPT
Now teach me, Yahweh, all about your ways and tell me what to do.
Make it clear for me to understand,
for I am surrounded by waiting enemies. Psalm 27:11 TPT
I’m a bible enthusiast.
For quite some time, I have referred to myself as a bible enthusiast. Feeling a bit hesitant to come out and say I was a bible teacher; since I’d read the book of James, and I know teachers are held to a higher standard.
But I can’t help it! I love to study the Word. The history, the meanings of the original language, the nuances of biblical culture – they are meat and drink to me. It’s impossible to keep from sharing about it every chance I get.
I’m so thankful for the utimate tools by which to teach, the Word of God and the leading of the Holy Spirit.
Do you love the Word?
Do you believe it is the pure unadulterated Word of God recorded by men upon whom the Holy Spirit breathed wisdom from above into their spirits? Is it important to you to delve into the pages between the covers of your bible?
If you do, then you see how important it is to ingest Scripture on a daily basis. You will want to ask, beg even, the Holy Spirit to reveal truth to you. He can show you what to do and where to walk. He can tell you if you’re wrong; and He inspires and leads you into the way of right living and right-standing.
It’s true God uses earthly believers to point the way and to guide; but only listen to them if you know they are surrendered to and taught by the All-knowing, All-powerful, All-present God.
[my five minutes are up]
The Holy Spirit will teach us.
We just need to be willing and have a teachable spirit. I don’t know everything. I don’t always know the next step to take, or even the right path to travel. I need to be taught. Who better to teach us than our Creator? His textbook, the bible, and the Helper, the Holy Spirit are available 24/7. You can find daily strength and wisdom between the covers of your bible. Don’t let those covers become dusty!
But the wisdom from above is always pure, filled with peace, considerate and teachable. It is filled with love and never displays prejudice or hypocrisy in any form James 3:17 TPT
Today’s post was written in response to Five Minute Friday‘s prompt, “teach.” Writers write free-form style for 5 minutes on the prompt. You never know what you might get! (Posting scriptures and photos take longer!)

This is awesome, Jerralea! “I love to study the Word. The history, the meanings of the original language, the nuances of biblical culture – they are meat and drink to me.”

Blogging has definitely given me opportunities to share that I might never have had.
Thanks for your input, Michele.
Taught by the One who knows. I love that and so True!
So glad He gave us the scriptures! Thanks for dropping by Lynn.
God will teach us. And for free. Love the term, bible enthusiast.
Thanks, Theresa. You make a good point – it is free to study the Word, AND to have the best Instructor there is!
Jerralea, I so agree with you. Reading Scripture daily is such an adventure, a journey if you will. I am always amazed at a new thought, or insight, which He reveals.
Joanne, I think one of the reasons it is called the living word is because everytime you read it, there is an insight that is fresh and new to you. To think the God of the Universe cared enough about us to cause Holy Scripture to come into being and to be passed down through the ages blows my mind.
Thanks for your comment!
Every time I dig into the Word, I learn something new…even if I’ve read the verse, chapter, or book before. Thank you for the lovely post.
Thanks, Lisa. May we all keep digging in the word to find those nuggets of truth – and then share.
I’m an avid Bible studier too. I find Jesus in the beauty and truth of the words.
It’s all about Him!
Thanks for dropping by, Lisa.
I can feel your enthusaiasm through your words! I’m definitely loving and appreciating the Bible more and more the older I get. It’s such a gift! Stopping by from #letshavecoffee 🤗
