It’s always good to slow down enough to reflect. I decided to resurrect my Journal of Reflection format for this post since it always helps me focus on the good stuff going on in my life.

Brody is in his first season of football. Therefore, my people are gonna be at every game, rain or shine!
Share A Win From This Week
I’ve been posting a series entitled, “Because of You, I said Yes to Church,” once a week on Instagram. Then, I joined a Hope*writer challenge and posted 5 days a week in a row using some snippets from my Work in Progress to fit the prompts. It was fun to realize I could find something in my book to fit each prompt without having to rewrite anything! If you’d like to see, click here and view the last five posts. (And the 5 posts before that are all stories of church people who made a good impact on my life.)
Share A Great Quote
“Home interprets heaven – Home is heaven for beginners.”
Charles Henry Parkhurst
It breaks my heart everytime I hear of someone who wants to stay away from home as much as possible because either it’s not safe there or they are not valued. Home should be your safe place. I’m so grateful I’ve always felt at home growing up and later when Jim and I married and created our own home.
Share A Scripture that Ministered to You
“Pay attention and come closer to me,
and hear, that your total being may flourish.
I will enter into an everlasting covenant with you,
and I will show you the same faithful love
that I showed David.” Isaiah 55:3 TPT
In my bible study class, we’ve been studying Isaiah for two years now. Verse by verse, we keep learning of God’s incredible love He extends to a stubborn rebellious people. Once God and a person make a covenant, God will not ever break it. A person might walk away, but God never does. He does whatever is needed to draw you back!

30 years to the day since this blue-eyed cutie joined our family! (And yes … those are raindrops on our clothes!)

I just want you to know how highly I value those of you who visit my little piece of the cyberspace to read my words. I believe my calling is to encourage others with words of hope and blessing. Thank you especially to those who respond with comments. You make it worthwhile!
It is good to read your faves. Love that raindrop anointed photo of you and your girl.
Have a good weekend!
So good to see you, Willow. We’d planned family pictures at a sunflower field for Alexa’s birthday. Woudln’t you know it rained! But we still got some good pics.
I hope your grandson enjoys playing football! It’s so neat you are all there for the games. I always wanted my home to be a restful respite from the wold, too. Great picture of your family! I’m so grateful God keeps His covenant.
Thanks, Barbara. Yes, Brody is loving playing even though at first he had no idea what he was doing. He does love playing team sports. And I’m so so grateful our God is a covenant-keeping God!
How fun to put portions of your book into Instagram posts. Your bible study through Isaiah sound wonderful. You would be learning a lot. Whether we read the bible in a year or savor it and take two years for one book, there is so much to learn. I am more at the savoring stage lately.
I’m at the savoring stage, too! I think you learn more that way.
Thanks for dropping by!
I love your 5 things!
Thanks, Lauren! Glad you dropped by.
What a great way to focus on your blessings! I love how you do this!
Thanks, Ellen. I’ve learned to reflect this way because otherwise I forget!
So glad you dropped by!
Jerralea, I loved visiting you and seeing your lovely family. I’m from AL and we take football pretty seriously as well! LOL!
And I love the Scripture and the quote that you shared! Blessings to you and your family! 🙂
Tai, great to see you here. I must admit it’s Brody we take seriously, but as long as he is in football, we are gonna be there.
I love focusing on scripture that talks about covenant. It is so awesome we have a God that never gives up!
I especially love that photo of the 3 of you! And the raindrops make it even more special. Real life. 🙂
We actually got some really lovely photos of Janae and her family that I’ll be sharing from time to time. The rain tried to stop us but no way!
Thanks for dropping by, Lisa!
Hey Jerralea … it’s been awhile since we’ve connected … your new site is simply beautiful!
;-}
Linda, so glad to see you! Thanks for the kind words, I’ve got a lot to learn about this site but hoping to use this to grow.
So much goodness there in your every day life!
I’m blessed! God is so good to me.
Glad to see you here, Michele.
Such a good post. But this >>> “Once God and a person make a covenant, God will not ever break it. A person might walk away, but God never does. He does whatever is needed to draw you back!” Amen! He is our ever-faithful God.
The fact He is a covenant-keeping God is the bedrock of our faith. We may change but He never does. I totally believe He is constantly wooing the wandering one back. Look what He did (and does) for Israel!
Glad you dropped by, Joanne!
Super sweet family photo – raindrops and all!!
Thanks, Jennifer! Good to see you!
