The God of Abundance
My God is a generous God; it’s just who He is. When you view the wonderful world He has made, you see His giving spirit everywhere. For example, He could have made one kind of flower; but He made thousands. (According to Alexa, there are 400,000 flowering plant species.) He might have made all things beige; but instead gave us color. After all, the rainbow was His idea!
Apples could have been our only fruit; but look how many varieties He made! (Quora tells us there is up to 2,000 edible plants and fruits.)
He could dole out one blessing to each human. Instead; Psalm 23 tells us our cup overflows with blessing.
The ultimate proof of His generosity is that He gave the most precious thing He had, His Son, to redeem humanity.
I am beyond grateful.
Give What You Need
The Word also tells us that those of us who are generous will prosper. Think of it as a recipe for success. If you help others, you will be helped. It is the law of sowing and reaping and the Apostle Paul tells us in 2 Corinthians 9:6 our reaping depends on how much we sow.
Give what you need and be generous about it. It will come back to you; and then you will have more to give – a never ending cycle of abundance. You need love? Give love away! You will reap more than you can ever imagine.
This post was written in response to the prompt “generous,” provided by the community at Five Minute Friday. We free write for 5 minutes on the week’s prompt and then share.
In the interest of full disclosure, I wrote my post on Friday in 5 minutes; but the headings, scriptures and graphics took longer and so I am posting on Saturday.

Hi Jerralea,
His generosity is incomprehensible! Lovely FMF post.

I can’t understand it, but I rejoice in it! Thanks, Tammy.
I love this. God’s abundance baffles me, but I am so grateful. I love how God’s creation even reflects it.
How can you not believe when you look at creation?
Thanks for commenting, Ashley!
Wonderful Bible verses, Jerralea! Such encouraging thoughts regarding the many varieties of fruits and the vast array of colors in flowers. I’m smiling in His goodness just now, thanks for these encouraging thoughts! ~Lisa, Let’s Have Coffee #20
He’s a God of abundance! Thanks for dropping by, Lisa!
Undeniably beⅼievе that that you stated. Your favoгite reason seemed to be at the web the simplest thing to consider of.
I say to you, I certainly get annoyed while other folks consider cοncerns that theу plainly dοn’t
realize about. You controlled to hit the nail upon tһe top and also outlined out the entire thing without havіng side-effeсts , ߋther folks ⅽan take a signal.
Will likely be back to get more. Thank you
Thanks, Andrei, for visiting!
“He could dole out one blessing to each human. Instead; Psalm 23 tells us our cup overflows with blessing.” Amazing to think of the generosity of our God! Beautiful!
Yes! Think if you could only have one blessing in your lifetime? But Psalm 103 tells us He DAILY loads us with benefits!
God made a real whole lotta fruits,
no ifs or and or buts,
but Barb says it’s one of His truths
that He also made some nuts,
to one of whom she’s married,
a loony clown at play;
if only she had tarried
on that wedding day!
Prince Charming might have then arrived,
soft bouncy hair and big white horse,
but would a union then have thrived,
or was it thus a better course
to hear a new weird song a-borning
at 4 o’clock most every morning?
