Transformation: Fill Up Crevices with Truth

Transformation: Fill Up Crevices with Truth

prov31grace

The next piece of God’s armor is the helmet of salvation. A helmet protects the brain. Spiritually speaking, the helmet of salvation is there to protect our mind and our thinking. It reminds us of our salvation; we are new creatures in Christ, and over time, we will think more and more like Christ.

I know whom I have believed and I am convinced that He is able to guard what I have entrusted to Him until that day.

2 Timothy 1:12b NASB 1995

Also, that skulking enemy we talked about yesterday would love to whisper doubt into your life. His favorite tactic is one of getting you to doubt your salvation. He wants to take you captive and keep you in bondage. The last thing he wants is for you to move forward and grow more Christlike.

The more doubt creeps in, tiny fissures, or crevices, start to form in your armor.

Confront each lie with the Word of truth

Your mind must be transformed. You cannot think the way the world thinks. This, more than anything, is why you need to read, meditate and internalize the Word. Yes, it takes work to wear your helmet of salvation! God gave you the gift of salvation, but it’s your part to maintain it.

Don’t let anyone make you doubt what God has done for you.

Don’t Conform; Transform

I’ll say it again, our mind must be transformed. (And I only say this because I have learned this lesson in my own life.)

“Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”

romans 12:2 A nasb 1995

How do we renew our mind? By feeding our mind with the Word of God, by listening to the preaching of the Word, and by spending time with our Father. Spiritual disciplines create prayer warriors!

Our salvation is not only what we are saved FROM but also what we are saved UNTO – all that Christ has purposed for us. He has given us authority to advance His kingdom on earth as it is in heaven.

You are called to a higher life. Suit up!

I’m on a journey to discover the requirements to be a prayer warrior. The first thing to remember is I’m not alone, I’m surrounded by heavenly help.

I want to take the next 18 days to examine truths about spiritual warfare, corporate prayer and the praying in agreement and learn to apply them to my life. I don’t pretend to know all the answers. I’m going to be thinking with my fingers, so to speak, as I process what is in my heart about these topics after reading the word and praying for discernment.

You can go here to see each post I will be making on this topic.

Today’s question for your consideration: What does praying in the name of Jesus mean?
